This course is intended for software developers wanting to build AI infused applications that leverage Microsoft Foundry. Topics in this course include developing generative AI apps, building AI agents, and solutions that implement knowledge connections or tools in your agentic applications. This course also covers multimodal capabilities and understanding of complex content.
 
Course objectives
Plan and prepare an AI development project using Microsoft Foundry.
Select, deploy, and evaluate generative AI models from the Microsoft Foundry model catalog.
Develop generative AI chat applications, including apps that use tools such as code interpreter, web search, file search, and custom functions.
Optimize generative AI model performance and implement responsible AI guardrails in Microsoft Foundry.
Develop, extend, and orchestrate AI agents using Microsoft Foundry, custom tools, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Foundry IQ, and the Microsoft Agent Framework.
Publish AI agents to Microsoft 365 and Teams, and build agent-driven workflows in Microsoft Foundry.
Develop natural language solutions using Azure Language in Foundry Tools, including MCP-based text analysis agents.
Develop speech-capable generative AI applications, including speech recognition, speech synthesis, Voice Live agents, and speech/text translation.
Develop vision-enabled generative AI applications and generate images and video with generative AI models.
Extract insights from images, documents, audio, and video using Azure Content Understanding, and build a knowledge mining solution with Azure AI Search.
 
Audience profile
This course was designed for software engineers concerned with building, managing and deploying AI solutions that leverage Microsoft Foundry. They are familiar with Python and have knowledge on using APIs and SDKs to build agents and generative AI solutions on Azure.
 
Prerequisites
Familiarity with programming in Python.
Experience using APIs and SDKs to build software applications.
Basic familiarity with Azure and the Azure portal.
Basic understanding of AI and generative AI concepts.
